The Station: the Layout

Station Layout

All around the Station, outside of the viewports, there is little to see. No stars, for one. The space all around the Station looks dark and dead with only a few tiny glimmers of colored light - possibly other planets?

Section 1: Red : Administration
Current Status: Currently in partial lock down, with atmosphere, temperature, and sensors all with light power in case anyone appears here.
Where the Botharians were originally dealing with customers and clients as they came to the Station, communicating with the planet below, and other administrative duties. There is a large auditorium with a stage, what had to be elegant pools, and other areas that make it clear that this is where people who were of importance where shown the good life.

Section 2: Blue : Living Quarters + Power
Current Status: Fully open and almost entirely operational.
Designed to host the Station's several thousand residents, it contains the majority of areas needed for people to live. Contains the power core for the Station. Also designed to break apart and survive as a large ship on its own should the Station be compromised.

Areas within: Supplies, Medical Bay, Living Quarters, Lounges, the Garden, Mess Hall, Power Core

Section 3: Green : Docking Bay
Current Status: Fully open and almost entirely operational.
Designed to accept the largest ships approaching the Station and hold them for repairs, refueling, or whatever else may be needed. Also designed to hold, build, and launch new ships. There is a large area on its underbelly containing fueling supplies, building supplies, etc.

Section 4: Orange : Hangar
Current Status: 75% fully opened and operational.
Holding all of its smaller ships, and currently all mecha, this huge location was a place people could work without Zero-G (and with oxygen).

Section 5: Purple : Laboratories and Home of The Being
Current Status: Completely locked down, blocked, and without power.
Many people ventured into Section 5 only to discover that all of time and space had broken down within it. In the past, it had been the home of the Botharians' laboratories and housed the Being within its walls, protected and secure, but now the echo of the Being once there is gone and all that remains is utter chaos. It has been locked off to prevent anyone from trying t go into it.

Central Hub: Light Blue
Current Status: One path leading from Section 2 big enough for people to pass through, all other liftways blocked by barricades. Without power, cameras, and containing an unknown field dampening all sensors and all forms of communication. The tracks in the center have been peeled back by what seems to be an explosion, and several skeletons have been discovered within.
The central hub was the center for all liftway action going between the different sections. These high powered, incredibly fast lifts could bring you across the whole of the Station in minutes

Liftways: Black Lines
Current Status: Outer - Non-functional due to blockage. Inner - Working in Sections 2, 3, 4.
The lines going to and from the central hub, along with the one between section 2 and 3, are the 'outer' liftways. These are the fastest on the Station (or were, when they were operational) and also the largest.

The inner liftways move within each section, giving fast passage between floors and important areas. Data from previous operations offer times of 2 minutes and 36 seconds at 'emergency' speed from farthest point of Station to Medical Bay.

Due to player actions, all of the Liftways have been cleared to allow people, but nothing really bigger, to move down them to any end.

The Garden was once a beautiful, elegant garden filled with grass, vines, flowers, and all sorts of edible fruits and vegetables, designed to be not only the source of oxygen for the Station but a sustainable source of food as well. Unfortunately, after so many years without being maintained it has become less a garden and more an impenetrable jungle. The vines have started not only growing up the walls, across the ceiling, but through into the surrounding hallways and crawlspaces. Day by day, it has consumed more and more of that section of the Station.

One of the few edible plants near the entrance, as far as people have managed to get in, is what Gryf has declared 'the horrible bland fruit' but was called by the natives 'breadfruit'. An orange eggplant shaped, hard in texture but peel-able like a banana. Unfortunately, it is incredibly bland in taste to the point it is indescribable. While very nutritious and able to easily take the place of a meal, it isn't exactly... encouraged.

Though there are still creatures roaming in single patches across the Garden, thanks to the hard work of the Station's new occupants, several pathways have been cleared. There is now access to a large herb garden within, and it is safe to enter.

Mostly.

Also called 'Gryf's Headquarters', the Supplies Room is the massive warehouse in Section 2 where the supplies for the whole Station are housed. There are bins, all sealed up tightly to keep them safe, stacked high to the ceiling, neatly in rows and handled by the huge robotic arms Gryf controls.

Gryf's rooms are tucked just behind an large entrance area where people can come in to get missions, buy or trade for supplies, or bother Gryf whether or not she's on duty. You might want to be careful if you're waking her up. She also knows how to work the Station's defenses.

Welcome to a world of purple and green, where lights reflect darkly off of black metal engines. Down in the depths of the engine rooms, you'll find the Power Core. The lights start out the deepest purple and fades forth into greens that get brighter and brighter the closest it gets to the core of the ship.

The core itself is centered in a long, huge tunnel-like room that leads back into the core, with energy cackling down the length of it.

This generates the power for the entire Station, keeping it in postition and energy for everyone to use. Unfortunately, it seems that vines seem to be creeping in from the Garden up above...

The medical bay is advanced even to many of our time-travelers and more oddly, seems to be the combined work of many different races and technology all working seamlessly together. With large, clean areas to work, operating theaters, scanners, and even cryotubes on board, with several doctors now to staff (some even skilled in non-human life forms), it has become fully operational again.

This is one of the few areas of the ship that can go into full 'lock-down mode', triggered inside or out, that will shut off this part of Section 2 to prevent outbreak.

Quarters are registered as soon as someone puts a claim on a room. They are very basic indeed - a bed, a shared bathroom with the room beside them, a dresser to store clothing and some items, and a computer that logs into the Station's system. Just outside the room is a small digital readout that will list the name of the occupant. These may be decorated however people want. People are already discovering ways to knock through the walls and open up their quarters, or even where larger rooms are to occupy.

There are many lounges in the personal decks, a few on every deck. They are meant to fit about thirty people in each one, comfortable to rest in and with a visual and music system in each.

With several replicators and able to handle bigger amounts of food, the main Mess Hall in Section 2 is meant to seat up to about fifty at a time. There are a few others scattered across the Section, but most have been closed off to conserve supplies and power. The replicators will spit out any food programmed into their system and more can be created and added to the list of food's offered. Once a food is selected, a tray with that substance will appear behind a pane of frosted glass. Once the light turns green, lift the pane and take your meal.

Bothaious (Bot-ha-ee-ous) is the planet closest to the Station, always visible outside of its windows. It used to be a hub of luxury goods, run by the Botharian tribal government. Covered in wetlands, they managed to tame those wetlands back until the Mansidors came and destroyed them. They didn't have the means to keep back the wetlands and the buildings are being reclaimed. The atmosphere, once believed to be heavily polluted, has eased with the heavy regrowth over the cities once so beautiful. Now, with respirator to help deal with the still heavy air, one can walk the surface. Life-sucking leeches, however, haunt the waters and huge insect-like creatures, as big as a T-Rex, are agile, fast hunters prowling the surface.

One large city has been discovered, but it was clearly heavily touched by the war. It is safe to land near, if precaution is taken.

Less than a mile from the city is currently the remains of an Andalite ship, too heavily damaged to fly again.

There is also a nearby Sun, located 7.5 minutes by lightspeed from Bothaious and the Station. (OOC Note: The Earth is located 8 minutes by lightspeed from the Sun.) Thus Bothaious is a touch warmer than the Earth in general.

Inara's Herb Garden - In the largest 'cleared' section of the Garden is a massive herb garden, very neatly laid out. This is considered the safest area of the gardens and has a wide area around it used for relaxing or sparring, cleared by Zizih the Andalite when he was on board.
